I’ve had training on these things before, why do I have to keep getting recertified? Seems like a money grab to me

Although training facilities like ours do get paid for our services, the recertification is vital for a couple of reasons :

1. Legislation / regulations change ALL THE TIME. From year to year things can get updated and changed. In the event of a WorkSafe inspection our motto is, “Dumb answers get more dumb questions”. If you can’t provide the necessary answers to an officer, chances are they’ll dig a little deeper.
2. Complacency sets in rather quickly. Even in todays workforce with eyes everywhere, people can get into bad habits that put themselves or others in danger.
