What is Scissor Lift Training?
Scissor Lift Training, sometimes referred to as Aerial Lift Training or Scissor Lift Certification, is one of the core programs we provide at Clockwork Safety & Equipment Training. This course is designed for workers who operate or work near scissor lifts and aerial work platforms on construction sites, in warehouses, or during industrial maintenance tasks. Scissor lifts are commonly used to complete work at heights, but without proper instruction they can present serious risks including falls, tip-overs, or crushing hazards. Our Scissor Lift Operator Training ensures participants gain the skills and knowledge to operate lifts safely and in compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations.
Course Content
The Scissor Lift Operator Course combines classroom learning with practical training to prepare participants for real-world job sites. Instruction covers equipment inspection, start-up and shut-down procedures, stability awareness, and platform safety. Trainees will also learn hazard recognition, load capacity limits, fall protection requirements, and safe operation in different worksite conditions. Special focus is placed on the correct use of PPE, emergency lowering procedures, and effective job site communication. By blending theory with hands-on practice, our Scissor Lift Safety Training not only prepares participants for certification but ensures they can confidently apply what they learn in the field.
