Practical training continues to be a focus across all industries. The unsafe operation of any heavy machinery can result in serious injury or death. Telehandler training courses are a must for any telehandler operators. Safety training and telehandler training go hand in hand; proper training is a must when it comes to learning how to be a telehandler operator.
Clockwork Training’s versatile, well-rounded course gives trainees in-depth instruction on applicable regulations and safe operation of class 7 rough terrain forklifts. This course includes theory learning and hands-on exercises perfect for operators at any skill level.
Because we come to you, this course is the perfect group training course, as your team will be learning and working with your existing equipment.
Phase 1 – Theory Training
Trainees are guided through a comprehensive & interactive review of the operators’ workbook covering:
- Rules / Regulations
- Types Of Forklifts
- Main Parts & Functions
- Forklift Safety
- Centre Of Gravity
- Stability Triangle / Pyramid
- Load Charts
- Steering Modes
- Safe Operation / Shutdown
Phase 2 – Theory Evaluation
Upon theory completion, participants will participate in a knowledge review test consisting of multiple choice, true/false and essay-type questions. These tests are graded, returned to the trainees, and then reviewed to ensure proper retention. A minimum score of 70% is required to pass.
NOTE: Anyone with known difficulties with English/written-based tests must be accompanied by an interpreter or consult us about any difficulties that may arise.
Phase 3 – Practical Training
Trainees are shown the pre-use inspection, machine controls and safe operating procedures and then given the opportunity to practice under the helpful eye of the program trainer.
Phase 4 – Practical Evaluation
Trainees are assessed as having reached a minimum skill level and then individually evaluated using the equipment in a series of skill-reinforcing scenarios. Following the evaluation, trainees are debriefed about their performance and then given the opportunity to address any issues they may have. Each trainee’s records will be handed to the employer (or trainee) after completion of the program.
The program takes part in a classroom for theory learning, but participation in the field is vital to successful completion. Participants are required to bring all site-required PPE, including :
- Steel-toed work boots
- High visibility vest
- Hard hat (if required)
- Any other PPE required by the workplace
NOTE: Because previous training is hard to judge from one training company to another, re-certification courses will only be made available to individuals able to present proof of previous training from Clockwork Safety & Equipment Training or another widely credible source. In-house training at a previous employer will NOT suffice.
