What is WHMIS Training?
W.H.M.I.S 15 Training (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System Training) is a mandatory safety requirement for employees who work with or around hazardous products. At Clockwork Safety & Equipment Training, our program is based on the most up-to-date WHMIS 2015 standards, which align with the Globally Harmonized System (GHS). This ensures participants understand hazard classifications, pictograms, labels, and Safety Data Sheets (SDS). Completing this course provides workers with their official WHMIS 2015 Certification, giving them the knowledge to handle hazardous materials safely and keep their workplace compliant with WorkSafeBC regulations.
Course Content
The WHMIS Training Course provides both theory and practical learning. Participants are taught how to recognize hazard symbols, interpret product labels, and locate essential safety details in SDS documents. Instruction also covers proper storage, safe handling, emergency procedures, and disposal practices for hazardous products. Worker and employer responsibilities under WHMIS legislation are reviewed to ensure everyone understands their role in workplace safety. With a focus on real-life examples, the course ensures that employees can confidently apply WHMIS Safety Training in their daily tasks.
Why WHMIS 2015 Certification Matters
Employers are legally required to ensure all staff receive Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System Certification. For workers, this means gaining the knowledge and skills to protect themselves and their co-workers from chemical-related risks. For employers, proper WHMIS Safety Training reduces incidents, ensures compliance, and contributes to a healthier, safer work environment. By earning WHMIS 2015 Certification, participants demonstrate that they are trained, competent, and committed to safe workplace practices.
